15 January 2011
PutatanThis is the first time I get the opportunity to shoot a Malay engagement ceremony. Fara and Julian got engaged on the 15th January 2011 at Fara's family residence. The ceremony was held in the evening so I arrived at Fara's home shortly before 7.00 pm. The first thing that caught my eyes when I entered the house compound were all the lanterns hanging from the ceiling. All manners of yellow and red colours!! It just lifts the spirit in spite of the heavy rain on that day. All in all the whole ceremony was as lively and colourful as the lanterns. Check-out some of the "hantarans" being exchanged between Fara and Julian. I was very impressed!! Here are some selections of my favourite images of the day.
The hugest thank you to Fara and Julian for inviting me to witness your engagement ceremony. It's definitely a great experience for me to witness the culture and ceremony involved in a Malay engagement. And I definitely enjoyed all the crazy poses.. LOL!!
